I have one Corcoran connection in my database (which consists mainly of Gallaghers)--Mary Campbell, daughter of Elizabeth (Gallagher) Campbell and Unknown Campbell, married a Corcoran (first name unknown) and had three children: Mary, Margaret and Owen. Elizabeth would have been born sometime in the 1820s or so, so Mary Campbell was born somewhere in the late 1840s or early 1850s. >> Margaret, Thanks for the reply. I have more information on above family because I always thought they were connected to my husband's Corcoran family, but now I don't think they are. Will send to you off-list if you want. I also have much on Gallagher since Jim's uncle Nicholas Corcoran married Elizabeth Gallagher, daug of Augustus Gallagher & Catherine Dorsey. Don't know if Mary Campbell Corcoran connects to this Gallagher family. Maybe you do. Can't connect the Murphy family you mention. Carolyn Corcoran
Carolyn: That would be great--send me whatever you have on Corcorans/Gallaghers if you don't mind sharing it. There are a few of us on the list that are trying to track down the various branches of the Cleveland Gallaghers--no easy task! Although you have my sympathies with Murphy. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help to you, though. I don't know of any immediate connection to Augustus and Catherine--so far. A couple of "magnets" for identifying my branch of the Gallaghers are Msgr. Dan Gallagher of St. James Parish, Lakewood, and the Feighans. People generally know if they're connected to one or the other (or both) of these and if they are, they're probably part of my Gallaghers. Where did your Corcorans/Murphys, etc. live? My Gallaghers were on West 74th Street. If yours were anywhere in that neighborhood, I'll ask my mother (age 92) or my uncle (age 80--lives in North Olmsted) if they have any recollection of them. My mother "went East" when she married in 1933 so she'll only remember those from the early part of the century.
