Hi Joan and Colleen I asked my brother about my father's best friend Danny Corrigan and Bob Doyle. Here it is right from his 60 year old memory. Bob Doyle was the head of THE OHIO RACING GUILD aka union. ( Thistle Downs Race Track} He also worked for the Cleveland Plain Dealer . My father Bob Ward and Danny Corrigian were 2 of the orginial charter member of the guild. They all worked down on West 25th Street there was a market there and they meat booths and would book out of the meat counters. The Corrigans and the Doyles were from that area, as were our relatives the MICHEL family. Danny would have started at the race track around 1945. He and his wife Grace lived on Esther Ave from 1947 to the 1980s. Danny died late 60's or early 70's his wife Grace died in or about 1980 My brothers sugest you contact the Plain Dealer. He also said Pat Lynch still works at the track and a call to him would confirm a lot of things. He was a close friend.
