The Corrigan boys- the priest, the judge and the doctor-are about as widely known and respected as any set of brothers in the community. But it was much more on his own than on any merits of theirs that Chief Corrigan this week was named the Greater Cleveland Knights of Columbus man of the year. The award was announced by John F. Pokorny, pres. of the K of C Luncheon Club. Msgr. Robert Navin, pres., St. John College and the club's chaplain will present the scroll at a testimonial luncheon Tuesday, Sept 18 in Hotel Hollenden Corrigan, 67, is a retired Cleveland Fire Department captain, now chief fire inspector for city owned property. He has been a Knight of Columbus 44 years. He and his wife, Coletta, who have 10 grandchildren, recently celebrated their 40th weding anniversary. Their sons, all in the K of C, are: Msgr. Thomas C. Corrigan, diocese CYO director and state K of C chaplain. Municpal Judge John V. Corrigan, co chairman of the Mt. Augustine training center campaign. Dr.Peter J. Corrigan member of the senior staff of St. John Hospital and recently elected president of the Catholic Physicians and Dentists Guild. The senior Corrigan is a director of St. Joseph Home for the Aged and was a founder of the St. Ignaatius High School Fathers Club. During the depression he helped start a group, still functioning, to help the Poor Clares on Rocky River Dr. During War II he helped set up the Sr. John Cathedral Canteen for servicemen. For 16 years he was a st. Ignatius Parish councilman. He has also been a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society and has contributed services to Parmadale. Corrigan has been a trustee of West Park Council nine years and has participated aas member of degree teams at more than 200 institutions. He was nominated for the man of the year title by Remo R. Brandoni, 1955-1956 West Park grand Knight. Mr. and Mrs Corrigan, now St. Angela Merici parishioners, live at 19733 Westover Ave., Rocky. Corrigan is a member of the ST.
