My great-grandmother Catherine Corrigan was born April 24, 1874 in Co Mayo, Ireland. Her parents were James Corrigan and Mary Sweeney. Came to Cleveland and met and married Thomas McCann from Lisacul, Currahard, (Co, Roscommon). They married at St. Edwards Parish in Cleveland. I do not have the date of the marriage. My great aunt was born in 1895, so I suspect it maid was maybe 1894. Also, I understand that she first went to England and worked at a bakery to earn money to immigrate to Cleveland. She had a brother, Thomas that immigrated to San Fransisco, California. I have recently requested Thomas' death certificate from California. Am hopeing to get it soon. She also had 2 other brothers, and one sister, don't know where they went, if anywhere. Also there is another Corrigan line in Cleveland. My cousin married Patrick Corrigan- at this time we have not connected the lines. In what County is Tyrone, Termonmaquirk? For any genealogy in Ireland, usually you don't find birth certificates for that time period. However, within a day or so of birth, the children were baptised and that is the record you will find. So try the Catholic church first. Generally I have found that people immigrate to locations where there are other relatives or other people from their village that went to that location. Kathy Ochs
