A few years back, I tried to reach anyone in the Diocesan Offices, or at Holy Name Church who would reveal the existance of records. They both told me FIRMLY, that they had no records for genealogical research. If anyone can lead me to a contact, I would appreciate it. I am trying to get information on my great grandparents, Patrick QUINN and Mary or Maria BIGLIN. Patrick was born in Ireland in 1862, I am not sure if Mary was born in Ireland or in the US, in 1860. They married in Scranton, PA, May 23, 1886, moved to Cleveland between 1890 and 1892. They are on Hooper Street in Cleveland in 1900 census. I believe they were in Holy Name Parish well before 1920. Their Children: William b 1887, d February 1905 in Cleveland Anne b 1888 in Scranton, d 1892 in Cleveland Nellie b 1889, d 1925 in Cleveland Charles Thomas b March 27, 1890 in Scranton, d May 1962 in Cleveland James b August 1891, d March 1892 George, b 1894, d 1984 Joseph b 1896, d 1951 John b 1899, d 1984 in Steubenville, OH Mary (May) b 1900, d 1982 I would love to locate any records that might reveal where they came from in Ireland, or more about their early life in Cleveland. Also looking for any clues on the RAY and HOULAHAN lines of my grandmother Mary (Mame) Houlahan who married Charles Thomas Quinn. Charlene, I have a George Quinn b. 1894 died 1984 in my database. He married Catharine Williams. Ring any bells. Holy Name sent me information on marriages years ago. They were very kind and sent me a history of the parish. I asked for specific "church records" like christenings and marriages for which I either had close or actual dates. Charlene I saved this message because it had a lot of familiar names, but at the time I had no link to the name Quinn. I just got back from my trip to Ohio and although I wanted to find out more about my gr grandfather Charles HALLIGAN and didn't, I did find my gr grandmother Nellie (nee COYNE) HALLIGAN's death certificate. It listed her father as John CONE and her mother Bridget QUINN. I don't know if there's a connection since I just found this info out, but I'll keep a copy of your email in case I do find a link.
