Annie~ My husband Jack's maternal side is from Wexford. In fact, they still live there. Rathangan is a Catholic Parish, the church is directly across the road from O'Brian's Temple Bar which is owned by Jack's cousin Philip O'Brian. Most of the CLEARY family were baptized, married, and buried from there. This CLEARY family, American branch are Lakewood. CLEARY Real Estate, Rex Plumbing, former judge Pat CLEARY, CLEARY Construction, etc., are my husband's family. In Wexford among the townlands associated with that church are Blackstone (family home from 1798 is there), Kilmore Quay, Duncormick. The parish of Kilmore is down the road but not sure if some of Kilmore Quay records are there and at Rathangan. The records for the village of Kilmore Quay are not at the RC church there but at the church at Kilmore the next village over. The townland of Neimstown is in Kilmore parish where Jack's other set of grandparents the CLARKE's emigrated. I'll check the records to see what I have on HOGANS. The records from 1822 to 1854 are not at the Heritage Center nor do we have them. They were considered too fragile but they are at the Rathangan Church. We made an appointment to get the ancestors for that period years ago when getting data for Irish Citizenship. Hi Mary Ellen, I was curious if you know of any good sources of information (online, etc) for Wexford. The early indications I have is that my father's side of the family, the Fortunes are from Wexford. I'm just trying to put together a list of resources I might contact, and you have already been a wealth of information on my mother's (Gibbons) side of the family in Mayo.
