I was there a few weeks ago. You pay your fee for the day and do your research. Parking is at a premium though. There is a pay lot across from the Society which is good choice if you are going to spend the entire day doing research. I found that for periods up to 2 hrs. the metered parking on Magnolia was a better deal.
