Just received the notice this morning. 13th ANNUAL RIVERDAY ON WHISKEY ISLAND WHERE OUR RIVER GREETS OUR LAKE Saturday, May 31st - Speakers: 3-5 PM & Self Guided Walking Tours: 12 noon-6 PM The Cuyahoga: 200 years of History is the theme of RiverDay 2003 honoring Ohio's Bicentennial. Sixteen events are scheduled throughout the Cuyahoga River watershed to promote public understanding, enjoyment and stewardship of our waterways. The Friends of Whiskey Island has been asked by RiverDay Events Coordinator Friends of the Crooked River to sponsor a RiverDay 2003 event at Whiskey Island The Friends of Whiskey Island cordially invites the public to WHISKEY ISLAND, the beautiful 20-acre greenspace located on Lake Erie at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River. WHISKEY ISLAND-RiverDay 2003 activities take place on Saturday, May 31, from 12 - 6 PM The activities include a self-guided walking tour of this unique 20-acre urban park setting as well as a two-hour speakers event. The public is encouraged to bring picnic lunches and explore the 20-acre site to enjoy our lakefront and riverfront. Capture the panoramic views of the lake, river and downtown Cleveland that are unique to Whiskey Island. From 3-5 PM public officials from Cleveland, Cuyahoga County and Ohio and speakers from nonprofit organizations will be Whiskey Island to publicly share their plans, projects and visions for our waterways, greenspace, natural area, historic structure, waterfront revitalization's, environment and public access.
