Jack, My Mayo family all came in via NY but came to OH and no mining connections. Even trips back to Ireland in early 1900s were through NYC. We have a classic family story of my great uncle Pat MCFADDEN getting so drunk in NYC that he missed the boat back home. His older sister Ann MCFADDEN MCNAMARA was furious! She was paying his fare and was also pregnant. Each year for first few children she would travel to Mayo for their birth. Pat had a wee problem with the porter his whole life! Mary Ellen
