The The Plain Dealer Sunday Magazine of March 11, 2001 has an article on the Irish in the Cleveland area. It stated that "Achill Island, County Mayo. . .particularly on the West Side" are the roots for many Irish-Americans. That "once settled, emigrants sent for their families and neighbors followed neighbors."
