Pat~ Thanks so much. My uncles were firefighters, Captain Bill LIBENS and Lieutenant Jack LIBENS (Arson squad). It is my g grandfather, their grandfather I am trying to track. The 1871 Directory has him living on Main St. occupation a seaman which is correct- John TOWNSEND. However, his wife and children lived in what is now Linndale. They owned 10 lots there. He went down with his ship in 1875. I wonder if there were boarding houses or accommodations for lake sailors in that area, at that time? Mary Ellen Chambers
