Does anyone have any idea where these streets were located in the 1870s? I have the 1906 changes; they were not changed. Main Street (W. S.) Dudly, (W. C.) Apple Ave. Waverly Ry. Island (can't find any listing. Assume it might have been in or near the Angle) Streets listed in City Directories between 1871 and 1887. Also, have tried the Cuyahoga County Archives, Western Reserve Historical Society and Fairview Library but no luck unless I am JUST not looking in the correct places; newspapers, records, necrology files. I need information on shipping disasters for ships out of Cleveland in 1875, bringing back sulfur for the Steel Companies. Lists of casualties, sailors, crew. Cannot locate any death certificate for my g grandfather or information re: his death. Where would archives exist? How would a widow be able to probate property without some type of record in 1875? The property remained in family until 1944. Mary Ellen Chambers Lakewood, OH
