    3. I am interested in tracing my Great Grandfather, Thomas Gallagher came from Ackhill Island Ireland via Canada. Had a sister Margaret married the Gaughdy's brother. Some counsin were J.F.Gallagher who was a Priest at Holy Name Church in 1884. My Great Grandfather and Grandmother Bridget Masterson were married by J.F. Gallagher on Dec 1, 1884. Michael Gallagher (a cousin was known as "Big Mike" tall, ruddy faced, heavy set person was witness. Also at their wedding as a witness was Bridget sister Mary Masterson. Bridget and Mary had a brother Patrick. Their mother had remarried name of Calvey. The story goes that she had gold sewed into her hem of dress and her nephew who was a Charlie (?) Masterson, her sponsor, took her to bank, Society for Savings on west side of Cleveland, and convinced her that he would be her trustee. The gold pieces fell all over the floor of the bank. She eventually went to live with daughter. I would like to know more about Gallagher's, Masterson's and Calvey's. Great, Great Grandmother Calvey had land in Ireland, sold it to the railroad, paid in gold. My Great Grandfather, Thomas and Great Grandmother Bridgit, lived on Dunlap St, Etna St, lived near Slovak Church that house burned down moved to St. Catherine St. Area was called Newburgh Town. They had Margaret (1886), Honora called Nora (1901) Mae (Sister Mary of the Incarnation - Ursaline nun) Ella (Sister Mary Josephine (Ursaline nun) Joseph called Dodie (1889), Patrick (1888), Michael called Mick married Lenore, Elizabeth called Bess married Walter Miles, Ann Cecelia (1995) my Grandma married Floyd Murdock, John (1898), Catherine (1896) called Cate married Tom Goff. All buried in Calvary Cemetary. My father did tell me that Calvey cousin morried Sorgey and one married Lavelle's. And third cousin Bernie Lavelle picked up a bottle of gasoline and it exploded and he was burned bad. My Dad thinks he remembers the Masterson's may have come from Cork but I can't substantiate that. Appreciate any help you can give me. Thank you. Peggy Murdock Wolf
