I need some research tools help, please. Can someone please reply off-list and tell me how to obtain copies of death notices from the Cleveland News Index? Is there a handy on-line form nowadays? Can't find my notes from four years ago, and can't find it on the CPL site. Sigh. Thanks, Karen
Hello all-- Here is the URL for Cleveland Public's Necrology File. On that page, you will see a link to the Cleveland News index, to check fro deaths after 1975. The necrology file contains all of the info. For the Cleveland News Index, you will need to contact the newspaper-- very pricey-- or a library to make a copy & mail it to you. It is not available online. I am sure Cleveland Public will send it. I usually ask Cuy. County Public's Fairview Park Branch-- their regional specialty is genealogy. They used to copy & send for free. With the current budget issues, they may not be able to do that anymore, so I would suggest sending a SASE with $.25 per page to cover their costs.
