At the end of the Civil War he returned to Ireland briefly where he was arrested in September 1865 but eventually released and went back to the US. I believe he applied for an invalid pension in 1879 and his widow, Mary Ann, applied for a widow's pension in June 1909 from Ohio. Thank you, Anne Kelly
