    2. I'm looking for infor on a Hannah Boyle, born on Arranmore Island, in Co. Donegal in 1888. She was in Donegal in 1913 and then emigrated to Cleveland. I have a feeling she never married and was most probably a domestic. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated. Her parents were Patrick Boyle and Sheila Boyle. Anne

    2. Eleanor, Hello, I was wondering if you would check on a great aunt of mine and her family when you go to the library to check census info? Her name was Louisa Heiss (maiden name Laden or Leyden). Her husband was Fred Heiss and children Charlotte and Walter. They were Irish and came from Kelleys Island to Cleveland. Looking for census info around 1900. Thank you for your help! Sincerely, Candace

    3. Eleanor, Thank you, thank you, thank you..... Your generous offer is greatly appreciated.... Searching for information on the family of Michael Kelley & Mary McKenna from Ireland (circa 1790) Their son Felix Kelley married Bridget Tierney and they moved to Sandusky Ohio, where they both died, he in 1893, her 1908. Their children were John, Catherine Ralph Marion & Francis (At least that's the family story) Some of them I believe ended in Cleveland, as my Grandparents lived there when I was a child... He also was a John Kelley who married Marcella Bertram. 3. Eleanor, How kind of you to offer to check the census records. Could you please check for Patrick Gallagher in the 1880 census...probably the 8th ward? His wife is Anna. Patrick was born abt. 1828 so he would be abt. 52. Anna was older than Patrick. Living with Patrick and Anna would possibly be their single daughter, Anna. Also living with them may have been Patrick's mother, Mary and/or Patrick's brother John and/or sister, Katherine. Thank you so much. Barb Shindler Lorain, Ohio

    3. Pat, My great great grandfather William Mahoney was born in Ireland in June, 1832 and came to the U.S. in 1850. He married Catherine White, who was born in Ireland in March, 1835 and came to the U.S. in 1853. They were married in Cleveland in 1856 and had 10 children. My great grandmother was their daughter Alice who married Philip Goldrick in Cleveland April 21, 1881. I know there was a son named William, but I'm not sure yet what his middle name or marriage date were. I'm working on it, though, and will let you know if I find a connection. I'm sorry I'll only have a few hours to spend in Cleveland next week ... I may have to talk my sister into flying back with me in the fall. -- Janet ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Thursday, July 06, 2000 9:10 AM Subject: Re: Report on my census research... > Janet.....I have a William John Mahoney that married Mary Christina Williams > in 1898 in Cleveland. 1. Report on my census research...
    2. Janet
    3. I just wanted to let everyone who asked me to look up their relatives on some of the old Cuyahoga County census records, that I am still on the case. It's just taking me a little longer than I had planned. I've had some success finding my own family. In fact, that's what has slowed me down ... I found my grandfather's mother's family. Their name was Mahoney, and I figured it was hopeless to look for a William MAHONEY without knowing more information. However, I found my grandfather staying at his house in the 1900 census! So, if any of you have any MAHONEY connections, let me know. I'm now looking for them as well as GOLDRICK. In the meantime, I'll be passing through Cleveland next week and will get to spend a few hours at the Cuyahoga County Archives to continue my research. Janet

    1. Re: HOWE/KENNEDY/MCCORMICK
    2. Mary Jo, I'm not researching these families but there was a MCCORMICK family in Holy Name School on Broadway & Harvard Avenues in the 40's & 50's. The girl I knew was Lucille McCormick. There was also a Hugh McCormick. Might you be related to this family? My neighbor here in Bay Village, Ohio is a cousin of Lucille McCormick. Carolyn

    1. HOWE/KENNEDY/MCCORMICK
    2. New to this distribution, so I thought I would post the names I am researching: Patrick HOWE and Ellen MCCORMICK HOWE who came to Cleveland from Ireland in 1880's. My g-grandparents. Cornelius KENNEDY and Jane MCCORMICK KENNEDY. Jane came to Cleveland from Ireland in 1860's. Ellen's sister and her husband. I'd also be interested in info about any Kennedy's related to Cornelius. I believe there was a related Will and Elizabeth KENNEDY, who had a number of children, including John Joseph, Cornelius, Stella, Patrick, Mary, Elizabeth, William and Joseph. All families lived on Harvard Ave. in 1900 when census was taken. Would love to know if anyone else is researching these families! Mary Jo Welsh
