Thank you so much. The check needs to be made payable to CAGG or it goes in the County general fund. The urgency of preservation is great as the paper deteriorates daily. Cathy, There is no 1855 census. try the city directories - They give occupations. If he lived in Rockport Twp. it is likely they belonged to St. Patrick's West Park (assuming they were Catholic). St. Patrick's has a cemetery. Charlene I saved this message because it had a lot of familiar names, but at the time I had no link to the name Quinn. I just got back from my trip to Ohio and although I wanted to find out more about my gr grandfather Charles HALLIGAN and didn't, I did find my gr grandmother Nellie (nee COYNE) HALLIGAN's death certificate. It listed her father as John CONE and her mother Bridget QUINN. I don't know if there's a connection since I just found this info out, but I'll keep a copy of your email in case I do find a link. My uncle went to Villa Angela and my mother went to Villa Maria. Catholic academies.
Dear Alice: My aunt also went to Villa Angela Academy, she said that the school was a boarding school for those of means and they also had day students. I hope this helps. My aunts name was Verna May West Good Luck Cathy
Margaret (Peg) Wyman Hartman b. 1907 was my mother. Her mother was Margaret O'Malley born Ireland. My mother told me she attended the Villa Angela Acadamy as either a young girl or graduated from there, yet the Acadamy can not find a record of her graduation. I think my mother was raised in Bratanahl area. She would have graduated around 1925. I recall that she mentioned she also boarded at the Acadamy. Can anyone shed any light on this, was the acadamy used as a boarding school? Any O'Malley's that may be related, please contact me. [email protected]

Should this contribution be sent to the County Archives? I recently made my first visit ( I live in another county) and I found my volunteer helper very knowledgeable and accommodating! I agree, the originals appear to be in great need of preservation. Ingrid, would we e-mail you privately? Thanks, Jean

The CAGG Preservation Fund has been established for the purpose of the preservation of records, documents such as marriage volumes, birth records, etc. at the Cuyahoga County Archives. Any contribution wil be tax-exempt. Although the Latter Day Saints has microfilmed many of these historical records, the originals are in need of preservation if they are to exist for the next Millenium. So dear friends when you request information from the County Archives, if you would be so kind to make a separate check, no matter how small, every cent or dollar will help to the: CAGG-Preservation Fund By the way, I will do genealogical research in Cuyahoga County in exchange for a contribution to this fund.
