    2. I'm not displeased at all.........just explaining to you how our list "works". Since you are a new subscriber, you may not know that we have posted information about the Heritage Quest census records through the Ohio library system several times over the past 3 years. Heritage Quest is not only available through the libraries that are listed on the web site you sent, but it is also available to anyone who lives in Ohio, if they contact the Columbus Metropolitan Library and request a library card by mail. However, most of our almost 300 subscribers are not from Ohio and many of them don't have state libraries that let them access Heritage Quest indexes. We also want transcriptions with index information sent to the list because the list is archived, and any future researchers looking for the same family, can find the information in the list archives if it's been transcribed. The purpose of this list is to not only provide the census information to the requester, but also have it archived for future researchers. I do many each day. I just thought for the many people for whom this would work, it would be good news. I have received a lot of very positive response since posting this message on several lists. I am sorry if you are displeased. It was never intended to take the place of posting transcriptions, but rather open a new research door to those it could help. >>
