I do census lookups on several states and have never heard that several copies were made. My opinion is that I'm looking at the original handwritten copies. You can tell by the various handwriting style of the day. A double s was written as a p and I see that in the early to mid 1800's. Just my opinion. Have you looked to see if the Wolheters appear in later census. Carol & Sandra I have been following your emails, and I can tell you that the two listing for George Woolheater Sr & Jr are correct and the name is Wooheater. George Jr had several wives. One was Christina Kramer Smaltz, They married in 1837, and Christina died in 1842. Maybe if you check with the Hancock Co list they can tell you who George Jr married when Christina died. Hope this was some help. Sue
