He is then listed in the 1860 Census: Living in Elgin, Kane County, IL. He was born in PA in 1826 and married to Mary?, born in 1831-PA. They had 5 children that I am sure of --Edgar(1852/PA), William(1854/PA), Kate(1857/IL), Francis and Charles(twins)(May 1, 1860/IL.). Thought maybe the family moved into Ohio. I can't find the family after 1860, Maybe Joseph Frank died after 1860, can someone help...Please? Thanks Gayla

Karyn, I believe this is probably the family...too many similarities not to be. Can you tell me the name of the town that Wauseon Twp would be near? Who would have ever thought the name would have been pronounced Funk. I "Thank" you very much~Gayla ----- Original Message ----- From: "Karyn" <seper7@gmail.com> To: <oh-census-lookup@rootsweb.com> Sent: Friday, November 02, 2007 4:59 PM Subject: Re: [OH-CENSUS] Fw: 1870/Unknown Co./Frank > Could this be them? > > 1870 Ohio, Fulton County, Wauseon Twp, indexed as > > FUNK, Mary, 38, keeping house, b. http://www.dot.state.oh.us/map1/ohiomap/images/county/ful.jpg Above is a link to Fulton County map. I don't think the name was pronounced Funk. It's is just how the transcribers transcribed it. Penmanship was not too good on some census. I transcribe and sometimes it doesn't look anything like it actually is and two different people can see two different names!!
