Did you ever get a reply for this request? My 1850 Ohio index shows 3 results for Angeline RICE, but they are all under 3 yrs. old. I checked the KY index and got 2 results, but they are both about the age of Angeline's children. I then tried an all states search and there were 21 results but none were born before 1827. Marilyn -----------------------original message-------------------------- In a message dated 10/31/2007 4:30:17 P.M. Eastern Daylight Time, dfarmer@prodigy.net writes: I would appreciate a look-up for an Angeline or Angelina RICE for 1850. I am not positive she would be in Ohio (she could possibly be in KY). She was the mother of Julina Jane Rice, b. 1833, and Harvey Rice, b. 1837, both of whom are found in the 1850 census in Kentucky living with a family of McGuires. Angeline was probably born between 1800 and 1818, and her maiden name may have been HARVEY. She was married to George Rice but have not been able to locate him in the 1850 census either. There is the possibility that George has died and the minor children have been placed into another family. He is then listed in the 1860 Census: Living in Elgin, Kane County, IL. He was born in PA in 1826 and married to Mary?, born in 1831-PA. They had 5 children that I am sure of --Edgar(1852/PA), William(1854/PA), Kate(1857/IL), Francis and Charles(twins)(May 1, 1860/IL.). Thought maybe the family moved into Ohio. I can't find the family after 1860, Maybe Joseph Frank died after 1860, can someone help...Please? Thanks Gayla
Thanks for looking, Marilyn. I just don't understand it, though. I have notes that tell how old Sarah was in that census. The notes came from a cousin that I can't find right now...I guess she changed her e-mail address again. Would you mind checking in Union County, please? Do any of the other names in your Logan County index match with the children I listed? Jeanne Kaesemein@aol.com wrote: Jeanne, My 1850 index shows 1 result in Logan Co., for Sarah JOHNSTON, b. PA, but she's only 20 yrs. old. There are 5 other results in Logan Co., but age ranges are from 6 to 36. None are showing in their 40's. She would be about 45, widowed and have some or all of these children: Mary Jane, Eliza Ann, Elizabeth, Margaret, Wilson, James, and Belle. I think Sarah was born in Pennsylvania and all of the kids were born in Ohio. I would appreciate a look-up for an Angeline or Angelina RICE for 1850. Thanks for any help that any one could provide.
