This is the only Brewster whose given name is Jasper that had an elderly female living with them. Unfortunately, prior to 1850 only heads of household are indexed. Hello Marilyn, No thank you, there is no other census year to pick. John Behan/Bahan moved elsewhere in 1900. From May 1 1900 to December 10 1900 he was a wheelsman on the steamer E.M. Peck of the Calumet Transit Company of Milwaukee Wisconsin. Then from August 1 1901 to December 15 1901 he was a wheelsman on the steamer M.L. Greene of the Alabaster Steamship Company of Alabaster Michigan. Other than his work record I have no other information on him at this period of his life. He and his brother Anthony were sent to Canada as British Home Children (1887) and then they ran away to the States to start their lives (1892). I know that they were together early 1900. I have no information on Anthony and was hoping that he would show up in some census. Thank you for your help. I am trying to find in the 1830 census, Madison Twp, Geauga or Lake Co, OH, Theodosia Brewster, widow of Jasper Brewster who had died in 1824 at age 56. The couple had several sons, including Marshall Brewster, who was also in Madison Twp at this time. There were also Jasper, Emerson Wadsworth, and possibly Sidney Lyman in Madison Twp. Theodosia may have been living with one of them. Thank you in advance for any help. Frances
> I would appreciate a look up in the 1930 census for Luther Cockerill born in Fayette County in 1873. He married Sally Maude McVey Parrett in 1899. Best regards, Terri McDonald Hauk t.hauk@comcast.net Name: Luther Cockerell Age: 57 Estimated birth year: 1872 Birthplace: Ohio Relation to Head-of-house: Head Race: White Home in 1930: Union, Fayette, Ohio Occupation: View image Education: View image Military Service: View image Rent/home value: View image Age at first marriage: View image Parents' birthplace: View image Owned a radio: View image Image Source: Year: 1930; Census Place: Union, Fayette, ; Roll: 1792; Page: 5A; Enumeration District: 19; Image: 553.0. 104/104 Cocker?ll Luther Head O R yes M W 57 M 27 no yes Oh Oh Oh yes none no Maude Wife F W 42 M 19 no yes Oh Oh Oh yes none Herman Son M W 19? S yes? yes Oh Oh Oh yes none Eugene Son M W 11? Oh Oh Oh yes none There is a blob of ink over the last vowel in the surname. Herman is marked as age 17, then that is scratched out and a small '19' is written in the box. The line for Eugene has been erased or just didn't transfer well to the microfilm. It actually looks like he's age '1' but possibly '11'. According to what you wrote he should be 12 or 13, though. If Sally Maude first married at age 19 in 1899, then she should be about 50 in 1930. Let me know if you'd like a copy of the image.
Thanks Shari, I haven't been able to get the name verified on Seth's b.Apr.1886, dad. Seems there was a fire in Washington and the records were destroyed for the 1890 census and his dad seems to have died in the time between 1880 and1900. His mother was named Catherine she was b.Sept.1849. If you run across him please let me know as there was several males around that time in Ohio. I know that Patrick wife Isabel came from Ireland but don't know if there was others. I'm reaching out for info on him now. I do know that this is fun. Thanks for your help and if you come across more info on Seth's dad or Patrick please let me know. Jim Makeever

I am new to this so I hope this is right. I am researching the Makeever name and have hit a snag. The lost census records of 1890 due to the fire. Problem is my gf Seth Makeever bn Apr 1886. Seems his father died between 1880 and 1900. His mother was Catherine, she was born Sept,1849 and was 50 in 1890. seth was 14. They lived in Ohio, Morrow cty, Canaan twp. There were more than one group that came to this area from Pennsylvania so I am not sure who the husband was as in this 20 year window some went south to florida and west to Indiana and Illinois. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Seems I have the Newbie fever. Have a great day and a better morrow, Jim Makeever

Dear OH-Census-Lookup: Ripley Township My Nathan Buzeard (misspelling of name Buzzard) can be found on p 407 (printed)/188 (written) of film M653-989 for Ripley Township. (He is on line 13.) If you're looking at ancestry.com, it is image 27 of 32. What I would like to know is the name of the Post Office. I get an "Sh..." then cannot read the rest. If anyone can decipher the writing, I'd really be happy. I can find no town close to that name on any map published after 1960. Thanks for your consideration. Jan Vassallo
