    3. Pat, Do you know when and where they were married? This may be the area where both of their families were about that same time. The 1850 census includes all names now as I understand it at Ancestry.com. You could ask for a lookup for Sarah Swinehart, b abt. 1844 in OH, parents b PA, possible sister named Katie b 1839 OH. I found an Obediah Smith born 1843 (age 37) in Ohio in the 1880 St. Joseph County, Michigan census. Is this the same one you are seeking parents for? This census shows his parents were from PA and I've found a family in Ohio in 1850 with a 10 yr old Obediah and both parents from PA. Let me know if you think this might be the family you are seeking. BTW, the index at Ancestry.com now has an 'every person' index for 1850--it's not just head of household any longer. 3. Hi Jane, I took a look again in the index and didn't find Edward in OH or IN. A couple things to consider; could he have been using a middle or nickname? Also, the 1900 is only indexed by head of household unless the last name is different from the head (which is why Emma showed up in the index) so if he were living within another Kuntz household he would not come up in the index. There were 3 other listings in Hamilton Co for Kuntz-Joseph, Nicholas, and Sylvester but I looked at them and he is not in any of those. Do you know the grandparents names or any Uncles that he might be living with. There is also the possibility that his name is mispelled or that he was missed. Wish I could have found him.
