Hi Diane, Didn't find an Amanda Hamilton in Preble or Hamilton Co but here are the two youngest ones in OH in 1870 (I didn't check for any spelling varients of either given or last name). One is in Darke Co which is right above Preble and the other is in Guernsey which is across the state from Preble. 1870, OH, Darke Co, York twp, P O Versailles, pg 405, taken in June; Samuel F. Hamilton, age 24, male, white, farmer, $500, $160, b. OH; Mary E., age 24, keeping house, b. OH; Isaac S., age 3, b. OH; Amanda E., age 1, b. OH; end of this household. 1870, OH, Guernsey Co, Wheeling twp, P> O> Millinessville, pg 632, taken July 19; James Hamilton, age 50, male, white, farmer, $3000, $710, b. OH, father foreign born; Ann, age 38, white, female, keeping house, b. OH; Robert, age 13, attends school, b. OH; Amanda, age 4, b. OH; end of this household. The next two youngest in the state are age 7 in Pickaway Co, and age 8 in Noble. If you want a reading on those you can repost to the list. Hope one of the above Amanda's is yours.
