I would think for sure that the marriage you cited was her, except for the fact that it is listed as Vol. 18 which is dated 1875, ten years before her birth. She has an unusual name for Cleveland, so I find it strange that there were two of them. Thanks for all the input! Nettie indeed had a sister Irene (married William Keegan), and a brother Eugene. Their father was Isadore, whose parents were Joseph Lapierre and Henrietta Choderlot. Henrietta's name got mangled into Jessica in the 1880 census, but it is her. Guess the enumerator couldn't understand that thick French accent! Joseph and Henrietta died before the 1900 census. I have them well in hand. They are my gr-gr-grandparents. I have Irene and Eugene well documented down to the present. Nettie was the only underdocumented person in that line. Theodore was Isadore's brother. Isadore may have come over from France before the rest of the family, as he is not living with them in 1880. I have found him by 1880 in old Cleveland directories, but never in the census of that year. Thanks so much for all your help! ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
I think you have found them both before they were married. Nettie must stand for Henrietta, which was her grandmother's name. Lapierre would be her maiden name, so I think she would have still been single. They must have married shortly after that. That's definitely them. As always, you're a lifesaver--thanks!!! ************************************** Get a sneak peek of the all-new AOL at http://discover.aol.com/memed/aolcom30tour
Looking for Charles Becker and his wife Nettie (Lapierre). Nettie died in 1915. I am hoping that they are married by 1910. I do not have birth dates for either. Hi- I have an idea that her father may have been Theodore? He is there in 1880, in Ohio, born in France, and possibly his father was Joseph? Nettie's sister's name was Irene. Irene, Eugene and Henrietta were all in different boarding houses in 1910, in 1920 Irene is married, and Eugene is living with her family. I'm thinking LaPierre is badly spelled in 1900, couldn't find them. You're welcome- Kate --- Blueskyes222@aol.com wrote: > I think you have found them both before they were > married. Hi- I found a Henrietta M. Lapierre living as a lodger in 1910, in the same house is Charles J. Becker. They are both 26. It indicates that Henrietta is divorced, the space for marital status on the census is garbled, it could be a D but it could also be they meant to put an S for single. 1910 United States Federal Census Name: Henrietta M Lapierre Age in 1910: 26 Estimated birth year: abt 1884 Birthplace: Ohio Relation to Head of House: Lodger Father's Birth Place: France Mother's Birth Place: Ohio Home in 1910: Cleveland Ward 8, Cuyahoga, Ohio Marital Status: Divorced Race: White Gender: Female Neighbors: View others on page Household Members: Name Age Alice Hill 44 Dudley N Hill 16 Henrietta M Lapierre 26 Charles J Becker 26 Alfred P Emond 27 George S Chambers 22 Charles Backus 26 Abert l Norman 42 Thomas Knight 35 Jesse Knight 35 George W Cornelius 33 Charles I Armstrong 20 Source Citation: Year: 1910; Census Place: Cleveland Ward 8, Cuyahoga, Ohio; Roll: T624_1169; Page: 3A; Enumeration District: 155; Image: 119. --- Blueskyes222@aol.com wrote: > Looking for Charles Becker and his wife Nettie > (Lapierre).
