    3. if you not have tried, I would recommend Wood county historical, genealogical societies, and/or library. Each of these may have facebook pages as well. Local folks are such great resources they can tell you what they have and who may have what they don't possess. If there are transcriptions of the cemetery in question, they will be your go to folks. Additionally, there is find a grave and billion graves online as well as family search and some libraries offer ancestry for free. Good Luck. Memorial 118803928 is for a lady named Van Valkenburg and there is another stone for a man with the given name John and a death date of 1876. If you do that you will probably get to this page eventually: https://mailinglists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/lists/setupmail Then you might want to sign up for this list: https://mailinglists.rootsweb.ancestry.com/listindexes/search/Listowners But be warned, you will receive postings from that list almost every day. May 8 a day at times. Another option that I do not encourage is to turn the list over to me - at least temporarily. Again, I do not want that done if you are willing to keep the list. 3. This is a test of the Rootsweb lists I am on. It is also some information for the list administrator if they feel the list is not running as expected. And finally it is an attempt to get something posted to the list so Rootsweb does not turn the list off. The list admin should probably go to this page: http://home.rootsweb.ancestry.com/ and try to set up a new mailman login, if not already done. 1. [OH-CEMETERIES] Ashtabula County cemetery with Andrus/Robinson gravestones
    2. Sanford Wilbur
    3. I'm looking for the cemetery (presumably in Jefferson, but maybe elsewhere in Ashtabula County) that has the graves of Chloe (Calkins) Robinson, and Cordelia (Calkins) Andrus. In the "Memorial to the Pioneer Women of the Western Reserve," the graves are described as follows: "Mrs. Samuel H. Robinson, born Chloe Calkins, came from Waterburg [sic - Waterbury], Vt., to Jefferson [Ashtabula County, Ohio] in 1833. Mrs. Hon. E. H. Fitch, to whom we are indebted for this sketch, says: 'She was the sixth child of John Prentiss Calkins and Sarah Harris, his wife. Some of her ancestors came to America in 1630, and some on the Mayflower in 1620. She was a woman of great courage, and strong Christian principles. She died at the age of fifty years, and her grave in the cemetery attracts attention from the fact that a sapling oak set by kind hands between it and that of her niece, Cordelia Calkins Andrus, has grown to a mighty tree, holding with its branches these graves of two brave pioneer women, who died so far from their beloved mountain home in Vermont." It seems like the site should be fairly diagnostic, if the tree is still there. I'd like to know which cemetery, and also any information on either gravestone. Sanford WILBUR, 4367 SE 16th St., Gresham, OR 97080 [email protected] -- *"While I am opposed to all orthodox creeds, I have a creed myself; and my creed is this. Happiness is the only good. The time to be happy is now. The place to be happy is here. The way to be happy is to make others so. This creed is somewhat short, but it is long enough for this life, strong enough for this world. If there is another world, when we get there we can make another creed."* Robert Ingersoll The SymbiosBooks/CondorTales webpages: http://www.condortales.com

    3. Judy: My other idea didn't pan out, but I just remembered the following, which I found out about a couple of months ago: You can send an email to the Magazines and Newspapers Department at the Public Library of Cincinnatti and Hamilton County. Give them Harold's name and death date. The staff will search the newspapers up to 3 days from the stated date of death and if found get a copy of the obituary to you in whatever format that is most convenient to you. Scanned images that are emailed to you are free; faxed and mailed copies are .25 cents each. Their address is [email protected] . The obituary should state the cemetery. Hope this is helpful. 3. I also found him on Ancestry. I checked Spring Grove Cemetery, but his name did not come up. Tried GenealogyBank, but nothing there either regarding an obit. I did, however, find an article in the '20s listing people who had passed their bar exams & his name was there. Was he a lawyer? I have one more idea, but will look into that later today.
