    3. <<<<Greetings list. My Great Great Grandfather Robert Easton was a boot and shoe maker in Ripley, Ohio during the 1850's thru 1870's before moving on to Ironton by 1880, then Columbus where he had his own shoe shop in the early 1900's. I am searching for any information on his shoe business in Ripley. I am not positive he owned his own shop in Ripley, but he and Joseph Bulger were neighbors in 1870, both boot and shoe makers. ? Perhaps they were in business together? I also see both Robert Easton and Joseph Bulger growing up together in the same Thompson household in Ripley, 1850. Head of household Mr. Thompson himself a boot and shoe maker. ? If, in fact Robert Easton did own his own shop, maybe along with his fellow childhood apprentice Joseph Bulger, does anyone here know how I could find his business in Ripley? ?Many warm thank you's in advance for any suggestions sent my way. Be well,April.>>>> HI: Have you checked local newspapers for advertisements by either man for their businesses? Also: Business tax lists, land/property records if they owned their shops. Kberry

Linda, I hope this message finds you well. On the 1870 US Census, there is a George Hudson living in the same house with my great-great grandfather, John Hurley, and his mother, Eliza Moore Hurley. But, I don't know what their relationship is. Eliza was born in Virginia, but married a Daniel Hurley in the late 1830s in Springfield. They also lived in Dayton, where John was born. By 1880, John is in Fremont (Sandusky County) and Eliza is with her daughter, Harriet Hurley Barker, in Mansfield (Richland County). Is your dad a descendant of the George Hudson whom I am referencing above? Hope to hear from you soon. Thanks, Sharon Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
