There were Dineens in Donegal though - only three households in the 1857 Griffiths : Dinneen, Bridget - Strasallagh Dinneen, John- Meenasrone South Dinneen, Patrick- Meenasrone South They were all in the one parish though - Inishkeel. The only household headed by a Michael O'Donnell in the parish, for 1857, was in Mulnamin Beg, which isn't too far from Strasallagh. I can't think of anything to advise you of at the moment, except to try obtaining Michaels death cert or obituary - there may have been something in that - or even on his headstone.......that's if he died in the US anyway. O'Donnell. Even her death certificate has no parents listed at all- This is a great frustration. Mary Harrigan O'Donnell died on Jan 28, 1914 (five days after Leroy was born) at 4:00 p.m. at 216 Hoyt Street, a tenement in Brooklyn, Death Certificate number 2674. An autopsy was performed and the cause of death was asphyxia due to gas poisoning. Details of medical examiner's report not included. No personal information was provided or known to the county medical examiner. She was buried in a pauper's grave at the County Farm on Feb 5, 1914 by the Dept. of Public Charities. She left four young sons, one being my grandfather Lester Aloyisiuss O'Donnell. Her sons were Edwin, James, Lester and Leroy.
