    1. Re: MARTIN O'DONNELL - GALWAY
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: O'DONNELL, CORCORAN Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/oI4.2ACIB/499.1 Message Board Post: Karen, I have a Martin O'Donnell and a GALWAY connection (although I am not sure exactly what connection). My great grandparents youngest daughter died at age 4 in 1900. A Martin O'Donnell is listed as "parent" on her death certificate even though my great grandparents were William Harrington O'DONNELL and Margaret Elizabeth Corcoran. They lived in Somerville, MA at the time of little Anna's death but they had lived in Cambridge, MA from 1882 to 1899. This Martin O'Donnell lived at 70 Harvard St. in Cambridge. His wife (Mary, I think, have to look up) was also listed on the death certificate. Little Anna's mother, Margaret E. Corcoran O'Donnell had been sick with lung disease for years and died the next year. I feel that Martin O'Donnell was William Harrington O'Donnell's brother, cousin, or nephew.... and that he and his wife had taken little Anna in because my grandmother who was a young teenager was cooking, washing, etc. for her father and the other 6 kids. My great aunt Marga! ret F. O'Donnell who was the next youngest child to little Anna told me when I was a child that the family was from GALWAY. William H. O'Donnell's father's name was DENNIS O'DONNELL and his mother was Catherine ____________. I am not sure if they came to America or not. I tend to think they did because William who was born in 1862 came in 1871 (of course, he may have come with an uncle etc.). -- Colleen
