    2. Looking for any connection to these names O’Donnell (grandfather’s side) My great-great-grandfather was John. I don’t know his wife’s name. John is supposed to be buried in St. Anne’s Cemetery in Freeland, Pa. They had 5 (or more?) children: *Anthony who married Sarah Glackin *James *Mary who married a Cannon *Madge who married a Roarty *and another daughter who married a Brennan. There may have been other children but I am not sure. My great-grandfather was Anthony (Sr.). He married Sarah Glackin Anthony came to the US and lived In Summit Hill, Pa. where James was born. Anthony (Sr.) returned to Ireland where Anthony (Jr.) was born in Loughagher, Donegal near Letterkenny. Anthony (Sr) and Sarah had 6 children. *James, my grandfather, who married Mary O’Donnell *Charles-never married buried in O’Donnell family plot , Holy Name Cemetery, Jersey City, NJ. Died at age 28. Buried 10/12/1918 *John-never married *Joseph-never married *Catherine-never married *Anthony (Jr.) (b. 1875 d. 1962) married Cecilia O’Donnell, (b. 1873 d. 1960) Anthony (Jr.) immigrated to the US. He married Cecilia at St. Mary’s Church, Bayonne N.J. Anthony and Cecilia moved to Allentown, Pa. in 1900 Anthony was a carpenter. Anthony and Cecilia had 7 children: *Sister Antoinette Marie, SSJ (Chestnut Hill Josephites) *Jay *Anthony and wife were teachers in Alaska. They retired to live in the Pocono Mtns, Pa. *others ?? My grandfather was James (b. 12/23/1867 d. 3/17/1960) James was born in Summit Hill, Pa. and died in Bayonne, NJ When he was about 10 yrs old, he returned to Ireland and then came back to the U.S. when he was about 16. I think he went back to the family farm (?) in Loughagher, Templecrone Parish, County Donegal. I think this is near Letterkenny. James married Mary O’Donnell on 9/17/1897 in Allentown, Pa. James was living in Bayonne, NJ at the time of the marriage and Mary was living in Allentown, Pa. They moved from Bayonne, NJ to Allentown (1906) . James was hoping to go into the carpentry business with his brother, Anthony, but that didn’t work out. James and Mary moved back to Bayonne, shortly after 1906 James and Mary had six or seven children. *Sally ( b. 1/29/1900 d. 5/15/1967 married Daniel O’Connell (d. 4/11/62) They had two children Daniel (d. 5/13/1993) and Mary *John, my father, (b. 05/24/1901 d. 08/04/1968) who married Catherine Chambers *Joseph (b. 07/28/1904 d. 05/16/1959) who married Frances Flannery The didn’t have any children. *Anthony (b. 04/03/1906 d. 05/20/1974) who married Mary Orlowski Anthony and Mary had 6 children James Robert Aline Marcella Antoinette Una *Marie (b. 03/08/1909 d. 01/15/1985) who never married. She was an elementary school teacher at St. Mary’s School in Bayonne and then at Mary J. Donahue elementary school. *Hughie (b. 02/12/1911 d. 10/17/1997) who married Kathleen Kelly Hughie and Kathleen had two children Richard and Mary *and possibly another girl named Kathleen, or Catherine who died at a young age. My father, John, (b. 05/24/1901 d. 08/04/1968) was married to Catherine Chambers (b. 07/24/1903 d. 10/--/1973) They were married on August 10, 1931 at St. Andrew’s Church, Bayonne, NJ They had three children: *Rose Mary *John *Kathleen (b. 10/26/1934, d. 1985) _____ O’Donnell (grandmother’s side) My grandmother Mary was born 09/--/1866) in Dungloe, County Donegal, Ireland, Mary immigrated in 1887 and lived with her sister Bridget who lived in Allentown, Pa. Mary worked at the Old Americas Hotel in Allentown and married James on 9/17/1897. Mary died on 11/11/1936 Mary had three sisters and two brothers: *Bridget, who married Cornelius O’Donnell, was the oldest. Bridget had two sons and one daughter. Her son,Charles, was the Assistant Chief of Police in Allentown, Pa. *Annie who married a Cornelius Murray. Annie immigrated to the US and lived with Mary in Bayonne, NJ. Annie and Cornelius had six children: *Helen Canavan, Bayonne *Charles and Cornelius Roselle Park, NJ. *(others unknown) *Nellie married a Bonner. She came to this country and then returned to Ireland. Nellie had a son Charles who lived with Mary and James in Bayonne, NJ. and then returned to Ireland. During WW 2 he was working on an English tanker that was torpedoed and all were lost. *Hugh lived in Allentown Pa. He had a very large family. One daughter, Bridget, married an O’Donnell they had 10 children. *John never left Ireland. His two daughters, Helen and Mary, came to the US and settled in Brooklyn, NY. Mary married a Barry.
