She still lived at the 321 57th St address mentioned in my previous posting. The census lists four sons; Arthur J (b May 1887), James (b Sept 1889), Frances (b Nov 1891) and my grandfather, Thomas Martin (b Nov 1897). Johanna remarried early part of 1900s to Martin McCarthy. This was Martin's first marriage. Martin immigrated from Ireland to this country abt 1885. The 1910 Census indicates Johanna and Martin lived at 327 57th St. in Brooklyn. They may had several sons. 1910 lists John G. McCarthy and my grandfather's obituary mentions a Daniel McCarthy. Johanna's son, James still lived at the 327 57th St. address at the time of the 1920 Census. He lived with his wife, Delia (?) and two daughters; Mary (age 5) and Margaret (age 9 mths). Also living in household was Martin (at the age of 75), an unidentified brother (age 17) and Johanna's other son, Arthur J. Johanna is not listed and I assume she is deceased be! cause Martin's marital status looks like "widowed" appreviated. Arthur J is age 33 and listed as single.

    3. My gggrandmother was Bridget O'Donnell born 5 July 1816 in PA? MD? She married James Curry 18 July 1833 at St Patrick's Catholic Church, Newry, Huntingdon CO., PA. She died January 1852 in Altoona, Blair CO., PA... Bridget and James are both buried in Old St. Mary's Cemetery, Hollidaysburg, PA. 1840 US CENSUS State: PA. County: HUNTINGDON City: Frankstown Township Call number: M704-0462 Page 350 Head of Family Free White Males free white females Cornelius O'Donald 1 @ age 60-70 1 @ age 40-50 Daniel O' Donald 1 @ " 20-30 1 @ " 20-30 James Curry 1 @ " 30-40 1 @ " 20-30 (Bridget?) T. Keys John Mc Donald 10 houses down the same road This has to be my James Curry and Bridget O'Donnell living next to Cornelius O'Donnell (O'Donald) and T. Keys. First line of proof is Cornelius and his wife Rosannah were Godparents of James & Bridget's 4th child, Rosannah Curry, at her baptism at St Patrick's Church, Newry, PA. Second line of proof is the ages of Cornelius and Rosannah to be consistent to the parents of Bridget and living two houses from James Curry. Third line of proof is Anna McDonald was the Godparent of James' and Bridget's daughter, Rebecca, at her baptism. Fourth line of proof is Rosannah was the godparent of James' and Bridget's daughter, Margaret, at her baptism at St Patrick's Church, Newry. Fifth line of proof.......Note that T. (Thomas) Keys lives next to James Curry on this Census. St Patrick's records show Thomas had a daughter, Christina. Christina Keys (also Keese in the church records) was Godparent to both Francis and Sylvester Curry, sons of James and Bridget Curry. Have info on descendants of James & Bridget to share.     3. Researching 5 sisters who came from Ire-MA-CA. The other 2 are Sally & Maggie but I don't have any info about them. My grgrandmother Mary Anne put Mass on MCT but family lore says all were born in Ireland-maybe Donegal. They came to US in late 1850's. Mary Anne was born in 1851, married James McBrearty in SF/Alameda CA in 1870. Anyone? Thanks Janice

    3. According to Naturalization Papers and Federal/NYS Census Information, Simon O'Donnell was born c. 1860s in County Clare, Ireland. Emigrated to U.S. in 1888 into New York, settling in Yonkers. He resided with a Patrick Toohey for a time (at 135 Riverdale Ave. in Yonkers), who acted as his sponsor for citizenship, as well as sponsor/ godparent for his son John O Donnell. His wife was Bridget Mc(I)nerney (also believed to be from Clare) and they had four children William, Margaret, John and Alice (d. 1917). Eventually, the family moved to Nepperhan Avenue (1905 NYS Census). By 1920, the parents are deceased and the remaining adult children are living at 137 Beech Street (1920 Fed. Census). Any information on this family line, descendants or ancestors, would be most welcome, particularly anyone who may recognize a connection to the Toohey or McInerney lines.. Mary Lynch Hartnett NJ

I know she lived in Canada, possibly Winnepeg and then Ontario. I'm looking for her parents names. My older cousin has a book from his mother that lists the following names, but we are not sure how they fit into our family tree. They may be Mary Ann's cousin's or siblings. We honestly don't know. The book lists Thomas Neil O'Donnell(says brother next to it, not sure why, Alymer, Quebec, d. Feb. 10, 1910 at age 86), Theresa (wife of Chay O'Neil, d. June 27, 1912, age 43, in St. Boniface, Winnepeg), John O'Donnell (d. Feb. 1915, age 35), James (d. June 1925, age 63) and Ellen (Alymer, Quebec, wife of John Laughlin, d. Aug. 18th, 1906, age 39). There is a second Thomas...Thomas Bernard O'Donnell (d. April 27, 1912) If these names and dates sound familiar to anyone, could you please e-mail me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
