He had many victories but ultimately lost and was hanged in the Tower of London in 1537. The Geraldines (Fitzgeralds) then suffered mightily for three years. In 1862 Martin Ross ( Violet Florence Martin), Irish novelist in collaboration with Edith O. Somerville, was born. In 1902 James James, composer of the Welsh national anthem died.
