Corwallis was the English general and the Irish side was a mix of French and Irish. This had been a year when the French tried to help the Irish cause. It did not go well. In this battle, the French soldiers were captured and given prisoner of war status. the Irish auxiliaries were slaughtered.. The Tone Brothers, Matthew and Wolfe were martyrs to the cause. In 1936 Welsh patriots Lewis Valentine, Saunders Lewis and D.J. Williams burned down the English bombing scholl at Penyberth, Wales. Submitted by John Laughland
