Hi, Anyone know anything about the following O'Connor families in Essex County, Ontario. This is only from the index. I'm looking for my g-grandfather James O'Connor, born about 1845 in Rochester, Essex, Ontario according to a marriage license. This is the 1851 index O'Coner Micle (42) li 37, p 43, Co O'Connor John, Sr (28) li 1, p 29, Sa#1 John (2) " 3 " '' '' Mary (26) '' 2 '' '' '' O'Connors Cathron (17) li 19, p 21, Ro Ellin (50) '' 17 '' '' '' James (51) '' 16 '' '' '' James (12) '' 22 '' '' '' Jery (15) '' 20 '' '' '' John (27) '' 18 '' '' '' Mary (14) '' 21 '' '' '' This last family seems promising. Some of the family names were still Jeremiah, James. Cathren, Ellen, John and Mary in the next 2 Generations. As you can see, the youngest James above is 12 years old, according to the only document I have found regarding my g-grandparents, the above mentioned marriage license, he was 29 years old in 1873-1874. So this one would be too old. Unless, of course, he forgot how old he was. And we all remember at some time in our life that we have forgotten how old we are. I remember once when I told someone who had asked how old I was, I answered 21, and a few hours later realized what I had said (I was then 28). Is there any other place to search for family info prio to 1851 ? Perhaps my James is a child of a child of one of the above families, and they have moved into another county. One other favor, if possible would you please go to my daughter's web site and take a poll for her on the death penalty. She is writing a book and needs the information. She is particularly looking for out of the country answers. But just because you live in the US does not mean you can't take the poll, please do. She needs a lot of entries. Please and Thank you. She will be giving out free books to anyone whose quotes she uses.
