Like Pat and Bill, my O'Connor's lived in Troy,NY....died there too, though some are buried in Troy, some in nearby Hoosick, NY. I have more questions than information really at this point, but what I DO have: Siblings: Michael, Katherine and Mary O'Connor. Michael was my ggrandfather. I know not when where or to whom they were born--though I do have a notation of my grandmother, Michael's daughter Helen O'Connor, that states Michael was born on "Orchard Street" in Troy. Family info has Michael born ca 1860, but cemetery inof(St.Mary's, Hoosick) has an 1853 birth. Michael died quite suddenly in Troy, apparently of pneumonia, in 1883, within a year or so of his marriage and within six months of the birth of his daughter, my grandmother, Helen (of Troy!!)O'Connor. Michael married Katherine NEALON(alterenate spellings of this name will drive me to drink!!!!: Nelon, Neilen, Kneelan, Kneeland are found on definitely matching documentation) ca 1881---I may have a marriage record match for this. My grandmother Helen O'Connor MAY be Bridget Helen O'Connor baptized in Troy with Neilen godparents --again an apparent match I need to verify. Michael's widow lived in Hoosick and Troy til her death in 1950. Katherine O'Connor and Mary O'Connor were the sisters of my ggrandfather. Again, I know not when or where they were born, BUT do know when they died/were buried, and they were helpful in marrying the same man--simplifies things just a bit. Mary O'Connor married Joseph J. LeCompte ca 1900. Joseph is said to have been from the Bennington, VT area. In 1905, Mary gave birth to Katherine LeCompte--and died. Joseph LeCompte then married Katherine O'Connor and together they raised Katherine LaCompte. Katherine O'Connor LeCompte died in 1926 and Joseph LeCompte died in 1940. The O'Connor sisters and Mr. LeCompte are buried in St. Peters--if memory serves me--in Renn. County. Katherine LeCompte, who died in 1998, married Walter Moloney who died in late February or early March 1999, in Troy, NY. That's what I know. Oh..Helen O'Connor, my grandmother, grew up in Troy, went to nursing school in western MA, married Charles F. Frank ca 1912 and, in Troy, raised six children including my still with us 82+ year old mother. I sure would like to know who Michael, Katherine and May O'Connors parents were!
