David was born somewhere in Georgia, later after he fought in New Orleans in the war of 1812, he moved to St. Clair Co., AL, where he served four terms as Senator, and signed the state's original constitution. He married Elizabeth Caroline Mercer. They had a daughter born in St. Clair, Eliz. Caroline Conner b. 1825 m. Abner Perry HOWARD of Bertie Co., NC. I am descended from this line. Two brothers of Eliz. and Senator David Conner were Dan and John, both were Captains in the war in TX. The family also lived in Talladega Co., Al, they moved to Texas in the early 1840's.
