In 1906 Henry Grey Grahm, Scottish historian, author of Social Life of Scotland in the 18th Century, died. It is rumored that he had considered writing another book, The Elegant Scottish Cuisine Cookbook, but had to quit due to lack of material. In 1928 Walter Bezant Lowe, historian of North Wales, died. In 1999, yesterday, the Welsh elected their first parliament ever and the Scots elected their first parliament in almost 300 years.
