I wish I could be more precise for you, but the only church addresses that I have for Rhode Island are in the Diocese of Providence. The people there are very generous with their help, so if you want to contact them - call through Joan McCaffrey, who is wonderful, and she'll probably give you the information that you require. The address is the Diocesan Office Bldg., One Cathedral Square, Providence, RI 02903. The tel.# is 401-278-4515. The only St. Patrick's Church listing I have is at 152 Holden Street, Providence, RI 02908-2893. I know that many old records are kept there from other Providence churches, but again - don't believe that that site would be helpful to your search. Perhaps, though, it's a place to start. Good luck! Fran Weeks

    1. Nova Scotia O'Connors
    2. Found two names in two recently purchased books. In "The Village and East Havre Boucher", by Evelyn DeCoste. page 40 "Gary and Debbie Brow's house was originally the home of John and Mary MacDougall. It was built about 1880. John MacDougall was a carpenter and many of the homes of the area were built by this talented craftsman. . . In the 1940's a Mr. J.D. O'CONNOR lived in this dwelling with the McDougalls. O'Connor was a journalist in Halifax who somehow came to Havre Boucher. The Angelus was a publication of the Archdioces of Halifax to which he contributed the article "Storied Havre Boucher" while on "sabbatical" from editing. page 41 "Each year the magazine, Angelus, presents a review of the major religious news in the Maritimes. The 1946 issue recently off the press has 140 pages and is well illustrated with pictures. . .The collecting of material on the various religious events as they occur entails a great deal of work. The unselfish service in the case of the Angelus is performed alone by the editor, Mr. J.D. O'Connor. Likewise the financing of the publication. It is a commendable work. In "West Havre Boucher, Linwood, Frankville", by Evelyn DeCoste pages 58/59 "This house which is now listed with Donalda McCue was formerly the one of Edmund and Louisa McKeough. Edmund, sometimes referred to as Edward and "Ned" married Louise O'Connor and they had a family of eight. . .When son John married Mary McKeough they continued to live here. John and Mary had four children and a foster child. . .John Joseph 1914 (m. Elizabeth "Betty" Connors). . .

    1. 1851 Essex, Ontario, O'Connor
    2. Hi, Anyone know anything about the following O'Connor families in Essex County, Ontario. This is only from the index. I'm looking for my g-grandfather James O'Connor, born about 1845 in Rochester, Essex, Ontario according to a marriage license. This is the 1851 index O'Coner Micle (42) li 37, p 43, Co O'Connor John, Sr (28) li 1, p 29, Sa#1 John (2) " 3 " '' '' Mary (26) '' 2 '' '' '' O'Connors Cathron (17) li 19, p 21, Ro Ellin (50) '' 17 '' '' '' James (51) '' 16 '' '' '' James (12) '' 22 '' '' '' Jery (15) '' 20 '' '' '' John (27) '' 18 '' '' '' Mary (14) '' 21 '' '' '' This last family seems promising. Some of the family names were still Jeremiah, James. Cathren, Ellen, John and Mary in the next 2 Generations. As you can see, the youngest James above is 12 years old, according to the only document I have found regarding my g-grandparents, the above mentioned marriage license, he was 29 years old in 1873-1874. So this one would be too old. Unless, of course, he forgot how old he was. And we all remember at some time in our life that we have forgotten how old we are. I remember once when I told someone who had asked how old I was, I answered 21, and a few hours later realized what I had said (I was then 28). Is there any other place to search for family info prio to 1851 ? Perhaps my James is a child of a child of one of the above families, and they have moved into another county. One other favor, if possible would you please go to my daughter's web site and take a poll for her on the death penalty. She is writing a book and needs the information. She is particularly looking for out of the country answers. But just because you live in the US does not mean you can't take the poll, please do. She needs a lot of entries. Please and Thank you. She will be giving out free books to anyone whose quotes she uses. 1. O'CONNOR STRAYS
    2. MICHAEL O'CONNOR
    3. I am trying to put together a book on all the O'CONNOR/CONNORS/CONNOR families in South Africa. I have many files (each file represents a family and will be a "chapter" in the book) on my computer which I print out and bind to show people in order to induce them to co-operate. I am busy updating (so far have printed out some 2320 pages) my "show and view" book. Two files that may be of interest to other subscribers are my Family Psi and Family Chi. The former comes from County Kerry and reputedly from around Glencar. Another place name mentioned (presumably the name of a townland) is Farranfore. What is of interest is that some of the family fled Ireland after a fight with Land League officials and reputedly went to Canada. One of those involved was Michael Joseph O'CONNOR (born circa 1879). Jeremiah (came to South Africa) is a name in this family and he was apparently the son of Timothy O'CONNOR and his wife Mary (either TAYLOR or BREEN). The latter file relates to Castle Connell in County Limerick. 2 sons of John O'CONNOR and his wife Mary RYAN came to South Africa. > Can anybody relate to these two families?
