Dear Fellow Listers: Last week I posted lists of Baptisms and Marriages for a few parishes in CO. Cork. Now I'd like to ask for help tracing descendants of some relatives that I discovered on this last trip to Ireland. The names that I am looking for connections to are Maurice Connell and his wife Mary Lavallan. They would be my great-great-grandparents. They would have lived in Ballygarvan as that is where all their children were baptized and that is where my great-grandmother Hannah was living when she married my great-grandfather, Bat Dempsey (of Ballyfeard) on Feb. 7, 1877 in Ballygarvan. Hannah had at least one sister, Abina (married Maurice Hogan of Douglas), and two brothers, John and James. Abina and Maurice Hogan raised my grandmother Nell Dempsey (Murphy), her sister and her brother, after her mother and two brothers died of TB around 1905. Does anyone have any connections to Connell (not O'Connell) and Lavallan from that area? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you and good luck to all in their search. Dan Murphy: Boston
