My great-great-grandmother Hanora O'Connell emigrated from Ireland in approximately 1847. Hanora was the widow of a John O'Connell. I don't know where in Ireland they are from -- although I believe tham to be from somewhere in the 3 corners area where Counties Kerry, Limerick, & Cork converge. Hanora came to the US with 5 children -- Delhia, Patrick, Richard, Mary & Michael. Michael was my great-grandfather. They settled initially in St. Charles, Illinois (just outside Chicago) and they subsequently moved to Frederika, Bremer County, Iowa. Hanora remarried in the US to a Patrick Griffin -- don't know the date (first of 5 Griffin surname children was born in Illinois sometime in 1854). Michael married Hannah Collins on 4/22/1867 in Waverly, Iowa. My grandfather, Peter, was born in Frederika in 1869 -- 3rd of 12 children. Peter homesteaded in Charles Mix county, South Dakota in 1899 just outside of Geddes. Peter married Lily Batstone 6/19/1901 in Geddes. Peter & Lily had 4 children. Peter died 8/27/1945. Do you have any matches with this information or any insights on the exact place in Ireland where I might pick up the trail? Thanks. Glen O'Connell
