I would be happy to try this, if only I had the number of his Social Security. I was separated from him long before I was aware of a number. """"Rootsweb is generally not a place for adoptees to seek birth parents and they discourage this type of message.... seeking living persons. However, I believe we all can appreciate how it feels to have a hole in your life."""" I was unaware that this was a specific list for deceased persons. There was no mention of this in the description I read. If you would please direct me to some place that would be willing to aid me in this, I would gladly go there. I am also "NOT" adopted! I am only searching for my father and his lineage. I am 37 years old and have been looking for several years through the many difficult ways available. I have little information other than what I stated before. My mother has lost much of the information before I even started to look. As well as when I was only 2 1/2 years old, my mother had a severe accident that caused head trauma and memory loss. """" Does your mother have any information to share with you? Do you know where he went to high school? Alumni Associations usually have current addresses of older graduates. And --- his 40th reunion is coming up in the next couple of years. Given his birthyear, he probably served in the Armed Forces. You might try the Veterans....."""" I have no idea of what school he went to. Again the info I have is very limited. I am very resourceful and have checked all that I can think of. My writing to this list is only another of the many ways I am still searching. The military will not have anything on him, as he refused the military ways. His brother, however, was in the Army and still thats a deadend. """Also, Grants Pass is not a really huge town. If you know his address when he lived there, you could use a reverse directory and contact everyone on the block to find out if someone has a clue where he moved.""" Again I was only 3 years old and my mother was limited on memory. So I have no specific address of record. I am looking into a possible location of residence in Flagstaff Az where my parents met. I thank you and appreciate your interest in giving me these possible ideas. I have searched high and low. All searches have led me to nothing or I get a refusal to cooperate response from several sources. I have not the money to pay for the expensive locators, so I am working on this with my wife. If I am imposing on this list to ask a few inqueries and seek some aid, then I am sorry. I thought that this would be of some help. The list description should have stated that this list is for deceased only. But if anyone would be willing to give me some fresh advice, I would be very thankful. Thanks, Robin O'Connell
