    3. My Gr. Grandfather was James Connell, born around 1860 in country Mayo. On his Death Cert. it said his father's name was Patrick Connell. There are three Patrick Connells in the Griffiths coming from Co. Mayo. Apprently, it was common for a time to drop the 'O' from O'Connell around but by the 1920's many had put it back on.
