Hi O'Connell Listers; What a great response - looks like there are quite a few of us out there after all. I am a ggg granddaughter of that famous DANIEL O'CONNELL, The Liberator, through my paternal grandparents. My grandfather, DANIEL JOHN JOSEPH PATRICK O'CONNELL (1879-1955), was his gg grandson. My grandmother, ELIZABETH AGNES LEYNE's (1879-1951) gg grandfather THOMAS O'CONNELL, M.D. ( -1792) married Daniel's sister, MARY O'CONNELL (1778-1836). In fact, these families and a few others, have been intermarrying for years! Through the generosity of a list member, I received a copy of the O'Connell Family Tracts 1, 2 & 3 last Fall. Since then I have gathered over 2,500 names of assorted O'Connell's and relatives. I will check my list against your postings to see if there are any matches. I think it would be most interesting to locate more contemporary descendents of DANIEL O'CONNELL. I'm curious to know who we are, where we are and what we are doing at the beginning of the 21st Century. There is no doubt that we are scattered all over the globe. I live in Poulsbo, WA, USA, just across Puget Sound from Seattle, WA. Where is everyone else? I hope everyone will post their names - it's amazing what may turn up. I found a whole world about which II knew nothing until a few months ago. I am trying to kind of glue our family back together again after a 100 year disconnect and it is fun!! Cheers and happy hunting, Sheila O'Connell Taipale
