Marilyn in TX Pantagraph, The (Bloomington, IL) - January 9, 1990 Deceased Name: EL PASO - Bertha Parr Williams EL PASO - Bertha Parr Williams, 86, of the Lutheran Home, Peoria, formerly of El Paso, a retired teacher, died at 12:32 p.m. Thursday (Jan. 4, 1990) at the home, where she had been a resident since 1983. Her funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Philomena's Catholic Church, Peoria, the Rev. John C. Anderson officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, El Paso. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service Wednesday at the church. Wilton Mortuary, Peoria, is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Williams was born Sept. 12, 1903, in El Paso, a daughter of John G. and Christina Grieser Parr. She married Emil A. Williams on June 21, 1928, in El Paso. He survives. Other survivors include one son, John V., Monmouth County, N.J.; one daughter, Theresa Shannon, Marietta, Ga.; one sister, Tresa Crawford, Pekin; and six grandchildren. One son, one brother and one sister preceded her in death. Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Illinois State Normal University and taught school in El Paso for four years. She later became an elementary school teacher in Peoria and taught there for 40 years, retiring in 1969. She was a member of St. Philomena's Catholic Church, Peoria.
