Alice Bergren b. 1899 Sweden m. 1919 Samuel Zarkos (Greece) in Brandon Manitoba Her parents Olaf R. Bergren and Aristina (Christina) Bergren immigrated to Illinois, United States in 1926 in 1927 she went to Ada Street in Cook county, Chicago Illinois with one daughter age 4 (her parents home on Ada Street) in 1933 she became a widow and came to Canada to get her son that was left with the father and took son Lester b. 1921 to Ada Street Chicago Illinois. I am unble to locate a death date for her, a place of death or find her name on the census. There is a possibality that she was also in the area of the Twin Cities Minnesota. Her mother Christina Bergren d. 1941 in Cook county Illinois. There is no mention of Alice in the obituary. It is my belief that Alice never told border crossing officials of her moving the Canadian born Children to the United States to live. I also believe that Alice died between 1933 and 1940. I do not know if she remarried and changed her name or not. Canadian census of 1911 call her Ellie, she is married under the name of Alice to Sam Zarkos I am presently requesting her mother and fathers, death certificates from Illinois and hoping there could be some information available there also.
