Sun, The (Baltimore, MD) - July 4, 2003 Deceased Name: William Charles Grindle , 61, bonds salesman William Charles Grindle, a retired municipal bonds salesman, died of cancer complications June 27 at Harford Memorial Hospital. The Aberdeen resident was 61. Born in Lonaconing and raised in Bel Air, he was a 1960 graduate of Bel Air High School and earned a degree at the Johns Hopkins University, where he belonged to Alpha Delta Phi fraternity. A former Alex. Brown & Sons securities salesman, he spent nearly 40 years in municipal bond transactions. He also worked in New York and California. Family members said he also enjoyed writing, photography and sailing his boat, the Peregrine, which he occasionally lived on in San Francisco Bay. He also sailed the Caribbean. Services were held last night in Abingdon. Survivors include his son, Kevin Grindle of Stewartstown, Pa.; a daughter, Kerry Grindle of Los Angeles; his mother, Margaret Moffatt Grindle of Bel Air; and two grandsons.
