Lewis E. Jordan Longtime Clatskanie resident Lewis Edward Jordan, 80, died May 7, 2007. He was born Nov. 24, 1926, in Greenwood, S.D., to Marion C. and Alice (Beakkager) Jordan. He grew up in Meridian, Idaho, and Boise. He lived in Clatskanie for more than 55 years. Mr. Jordan served in the Navy during World War II. He was a logger for Evenson's Logging Company in Clatskanie. He loved going to the beach and enjoyed researching history, especially the Civil War. Mr. Jordan is survived by two brothers, Ralph Jordan and Kenneth Jordan; six sisters, Charlotte Frazier, Mildred Meek, Dena Bay, Alice Ownbey, Sharon Barnett and Judy Raphael; his longtime friend, Donna Harrington; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Darlene Jordan and Doris Jordan; and a brother, Jerry Jordan. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Lutheran Church. The viewing will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at Steele Chapel at Longview Memorial Park & Crematory. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
