Deseret News, The (Salt Lake City, UT) - August 11, 1990 Deceased Name: DEATH: LAMAR K. WILLIAMS LaMar K. Williams, 66, died August 9, 1990, at Humana Hospital of heart failure. He was born July 6, 1924, in Layton, to Andrew K. and Norma A. Sheffield Williams. He married Viola Barbee July 23, 1967, in Ely, Nevada. She died in 1975. He married Mary Ellen Hatch Shearwood October 10, 1976, in Nevada. He was a building engineer inspector for Insurance Service Offices in California and Utah. He was reared in Layton and lived in Syracuse for the past 14 years. He attended Layton Elementary and Davis High. He graduated from El Camino High in California. He attended Utah State University and studied engineering from University of Southern California. He was a member of the LDS Church, serving as a High Priest. He had a great love for Scouting and was a professional scouter. He was an active member of the American Legion Layton Post #87 and a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II in the South Pacific. Surviving are: His wife, of Syracuse; one stepson and three stepdaughters, Keith LeRoy and wife, Connie Shearwood, Roosevelt; Tina Marie and husband, Dennis Curtis, Vernal; LaVerne Delker, Layton; Mary Cathy and husband, Darrell Smith, Rocklins, California; nine grandchildren; one brother, Kent J. Williams, Centerville. Funeral services will be held Monday, at 1 p.m., at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 No. Main. Friends may call at the mortuary Monday, one hour prior to services. Interment, Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery, Bluffdale, Utah. Military Honors accorded by Joint Veterans Organizations.
