He was born on June 11, 1921, in Rivesville, a son of the late Salvatore Marra and stepfather Sam Maiolo and Catherine Teti Marra Maiolo. He was owner of Regal Cleaners and Laundry in Santa Monica, Calif., for 35 years where he did dry cleaning and tailoring. He was a meber of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. He was also a member of Knights of Columbus fourth degree Marian Assembly. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army as a second lieutenant. He is survived by his wife, Mary Clouse Marra; one son, Louis Marra of Fairmont; one brother and sister-in-lawm Sam and Veronica Maiolo of Houston, Texas.; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Mary Jean Frye of Rockville, Md., and Joann and Ray Gray Sr. of Chino Hills, Calif.; sisters-in-law, Angeline Clouse of Stonwood and Catherine Moon of Fairmont; a favorite uncle, Louie and Rose Tatta of Fairmont; nephews, Ray Gray and his wife Kathy, Michael and wife Judy DeCarlo, Lynn and wife Mary Ann Frye; and nieces Janice Gray and Sandra Elliott. Good Afternoon, List Members,   How do I find an obit for a lady who was my great aunt and may have been my maternal grandmother?   Julia Remak, who died shortly after April 1930, in NYC was the "black sheep" of the family--certainly a dancer around Times Square and probably a prostitute. The VITAL RECORDS division in NYC, have her records but won't release them to anyone for fear of being held liable for negligence by her family.   Any suggestions would be appreciated.   Thank you. I just found his wife's obit and she died in 2005. It says that he was already deceased. Is this his wife? It was in the Cape Cod Times May 7, 2005. Dorothy E. LaPointe, 94 Elementary teacher; active in hospital auxiliary CHATHAM - Dorothy E. (Brooks) LaPointe, 94, of Orleans and Chatham, formerly of Allendale, N.J., died April 18 at the Liberty Commons Nursing Home in Chatham. She was the wife of the late Rene LaPointe. Mrs. LaPointe was born in Newton and became a school teacher. She graduated from Keene Normal School, now Keene State College, in New Hampshire. She continued her education at Boston University and received her master's from Columbia University. She taught elementary and secondary school in New Jersey and in Massachusetts until her retirement in the mid-'70s. She moved to the Cape in the late '70s. She was active in the Republican Party, the Cape Cod Hospital Auxiliary and the Women's Club. Survivors include a sister, Barbara Connor of Peabody; two brothers, Philip Brooks of Charlotte, N.C., and George Brooks of Tampa, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews. Burial was private. I just checked The Orange County Register and newsbank and I could not find an obituary for Rene. The Register has a local news section that covers Aliso Viejo. I also checked Legacy and didn't find him in their data base either.
