(nee Smykoska) Dumuhosky; sister of the late Bridget, Celia, Madeline and Peter; also survived by six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; nieces and nephews. Frances lived her life with decency and purpose as a loving wife, devoted mother, grandmother and mother-in-law. Services from the COLONIAL MEMORIALS CHAPELS INC., 3003 South Park Ave., Lackawanna NY, Wednesday morning at 9 AM and from Our Lady of Victory Basilica at 9:30 AM. Mrs. Piotrowski was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society, Catholic Daughters of America, Trac II Seniors and Prime Timers Seniors. Visitation Tuesday only from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. She was 72 years old. Shirley Ann Brooks was born October 6, 1936 in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, the daughter of Lester and Ruth (Carroll) Brooks. On January 7, 1957, she married James William Jackson in Pawhuska. A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Shirley was a member of the Wynona First Baptist Church. She had been a Sunday School teacher for more than fifty years. Surviving family include: Her husband: James W. Jackson of the home; Two sons: Joel Jackson and wife, Linda; and Daniel Jackson; Her grandchildren: Tim Jackson; Alisha Duncan and husband, J.D.; and Rebecca Jackson; Three sisters: Maudell Toms, Moette "Brooksie" Smith and Cleo Britt; Four great grandchildren and a host of other family and friends. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one niece and a great-niece. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 23, at 2:00 PM at the First Baptist Church of Wynona. Rev. Katherine, I used NewsBank to search for an obit for you, but the newspaper from St. Joseph, MO is only archived from 2000 on. I did search the entire state of MO in case it was in another paper but nothing was found. I did find the public libary research page for St. Joseph.
